Chris Palmer is President and CEO of National Wildlife Productions, Inc. (NWP), the television film and multimedia arm of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). NWF is the nation's largest member-supported conservation group. Chris is a member if NWF's Senior Leadership Team. NWP was created as a separate, nonprofit, charitable organization when Chris joined NWF in October 1994. The goal of NWP is to fulfill NWF's conservation mission by creating and producing television and mass-media projects, including children's teleivsion programs, documentaries, giant-screen films for IMAX theaters, feature films, TV movies and interactive multimedia programs. As president and CEO of NWP, Chris heads all original programming for NWF, including production of NWF documentaries for TBS Superstation, The Disney Channel, the Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, Home and Garden Television, The Travel Channel, and the Outdoor Life Network. Before joining NWF, Chris was president of Nationa Audobon Society Productions, which he founded in 1984. Between 1984 and 1994, he headed an Audobon/Turner Joint Venture and executive-produced 40 hour-long documentaries, which he won ore than 60 national and international awards. In 1994, Chris received the Frank G. Wells Award from the Environmental Media Association for his work at Audobon.
