David Clark is the director and co-producer of the new theatrical IMAX film,
Whales, currently in production and due for release in the fall of 1996. A two-time Emmy Award winner, David has been producing and directing films for 20 years. His work has taken him all over the world for such clients as National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Smithsonian, Audubon Society, The Nature Company, and PBS.
Directing this current project in 70mm IMAX, the largest film format in the
world, has challenged David and his fellow crew members to find exciting new
views in the world of whales by using gyro stabilizers from boats and
helicopters, special camera rigs from the masts of sailboats, and sending
underwater cameramen into the depths. When completed, they will have filmed
in Newfoundland, Alaska, Argentina, Colombia, Hawaii and California.
